Pura is designed to work without requiring an account. We may collect:
- Scan data — barcodes and images of product labels you scan. Image processing happens on-device wherever possible.
- Device information — anonymous device type, OS version, and app version for diagnostics.
- Usage analytics — aggregated, anonymized data about how features are used to improve the app.
- Optional preferences — if you provide skin type, sensitivities, or saved products, this data is stored locally on your device.
How We Use Information
- To analyze scanned products and return safety information.
- To improve the accuracy and coverage of our ingredient database.
- To diagnose crashes and improve app performance.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party analytics and crash-reporting services (such as Apple's App Analytics) that may collect anonymized usage data subject to their own privacy policies.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share identifiable scan history with advertisers.
Data Retention
Local data (saved scans, preferences) lives on your device and can be cleared at any time by deleting the app. Anonymized analytics may be retained for product improvement.
Your Choices
You can disable analytics in your iOS Settings. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
Pura is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-app.
